Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo will put up a quadruple double
With only five quadruple doubles in history, I believe Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks will be the next player to achieve this feat
It is clear to anyone who watches the NBA that Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is a special talent. At the start of his fifth season, Antetokounmpo has shown his talent is immense. Last season, in 35.6 minutes per game, he averaged 22.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.9 blocks per game. These stats showcase his incredible versatility and aforementioned talent.
What is most impressive about this stat line is he led the team in all five statistical categories. This means he is the fifth player in history to do this. The other four are Dave Cowans (1977-78), Scottie Pippen (1994-95), Kevin Garnett (2002-03) and LeBron James (2008-09).
To add to this, he is the only player in NBA history to finish in the top 20 in a single season in total points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
This season, Antetokounmpo will probably create more history. His talent and versatility have him on the verge of joining another exclusive list. This is the list of players who have recorded quadruple doubles.
The quadruple double club
The first player was Nate Thurmond of the Golden State Warriors back in 1974. Against the Altanta Hawks, Thurmond recorded 24 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists and 12 blocks.
Twelve years later, in 1986, Alvin Robertson of the San Antonio Spurs became only the second player to achieve this feat. Against the Phoenix Suns Robertson recorded 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals.
In 1990, Hakeem Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets became the third player to achieve this incredible feat. Olajuwon actually did it in the same month of the same year.
On March 3 against the Golden State Warriors he collected 29 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 blocks. On March 29 he collected 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 blocks against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The fourth player to achieve this was David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs. In 1994, Robinson collected 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 blocks against the Detroit Pistons.

If there is a player who has the potential to join this club, it is Antetonkounmpo. Below is my reasoning why.
Giannis Antetokounmpo by the numbers
Points: Now Antetokounmpo is the center of the Bucks offense, there is no problem with him collecting the 10 points required for the quadruple double. In his past two seasons, Antetokounmpo has failed to reach double figures on only 17 occasions.
Rebounds: Again, taking numbers from the previous two seasons, Antetokounmpo is very able at collecting rebounds. In the 160 games he has played, he has collected 10 rebounds or more on 50 occasions.
Assists: Further to the previous stats, due to the Bucks using Antetokounmpo as a playmaker he has the potential to collect the required 10 assists. Antetokounmpo has collected 10 or more assists on 14 different occasions.
Blocks: This is the category which Antetokounmpo needs to break the double digit barrier. His best total number in this category is seven, collected against the Chicago Bulls on 31-12-2016.
It was this game which actually had me believing Antetokounmpo could collect the quadruple double. In 41 minutes he had 35 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and seven blocks.
