2. The starting backcourt will do just fine

There was quite a bit of concern in Los Angeles about the Clippers’ backcourt following Chris Paul’s departure. After watching the starting backcourt of Patrick Beverley and Milos Teodosic in the season opener, those worries should be put to rest.

Neither player is going to score 20 points per game, but they compliment each other very well. Teodosic is a floor general and did a good job of setting his teammates up with open looks. Beverley, on the other hand, was a defensive genius against Lonzo Ball and will continue shutting down the opposing teams’ best guard.

Paul may have been the face of the franchise, but the Clippers have moved on very well from him. Teodosic still has some work to do on his offensive game, but has already shown promise as a floor general. Beverley has already shown the same type of aggressive defense that made him a fan favorite in Houston.

L.A. will need their backcourt to continue feeding off of each other to compete in the Western Conference. That shouldn’t be a worry for them and game one should be a very encouraging sign.
