Chicago Bulls: 3 takeaways from 2017-18 season opener
The Chicago Bulls kicked off their 2017-18 campaign with a 117-101 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Here are the main takeaways from their season opener.
The Chicago Bulls knew they were going to be in for a long season with a roster that looks vastly different than what we have seen in years past. Taking into account there are only three players on the roster with more than three years of NBA experience, the Bulls came into this year knowing there would be some growing pains.
So when the team opened up the season with a road game against a veteran Toronto Raptors squad that has been in the thick of the conference playoff race over the past few seasons, everyone pretty much knew what to expect. A loss was the expected outcome, considering the Bulls were a bit short-handed at the power forward position (more on that in a bit).
Early on, the young Bulls hung tough with the home team, trailing by just a two-point margin (25-23) after the first quarter. From that point on, however, everything went south.
When it was all said and done, the Raptors cruised to an easy 117-101 victory, handing the Bulls their first loss of the season. Here’s a quick look at the main takeaways from this contest.
