The San Antonio Spurs kicked off the 2017-18 season against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Let’s take a closer look at how the team looked in the win.

The San Antonio Spurs opened up the 2017-18 NBA season against the newly built Minnesota Timberwolves with a 107-99 victory. Because of a rocky preseason, it was the perfect first test for the team.

After a slow offseason, it was looking like the Spurs were not much of a threat anymore, which is unusual because this same team won over 60 games last season. After losing Dewayne Dedmon and Jonathon Simmons in free agency, question marks appeared over the Spurs’ heads.

After Wednesday night’s win, those question marks went away for the time being. With Rudy Gay and Dejounte Murray ready to show they have what it takes, the team came out firing.

LaMarcus Aldridge led the way with 25 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Danny Green chipped in 17 points, Dejounte Murray finished with 16 starting at the point and Rudy Gay added 14 off the bench.

Everyone on the roster stepped up for the Spurs, moving the ball like we are used to seeing, shooting high percentage shots, and never backing down. However, there are some things that definitely stood out more than others.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three takeaways from the Spurs’ season opener.
