1. De’Aaron Fox sprints through debut

While De’Aaron Fox did not start in his opening game, he was clearly the rookie to watch for the Sacramento Kings. The crowd cheered loudly when he entered the game and continued to cheer for him for the entire night.

Fox finished the game with 14 points and five assists in 24 minutes. He also showed off the ridiculous speed that made him such a coveted prospect:

Even among some of the greatest athletes in the world, Fox just looks like a different species. He got past an excellent defender in Trevor Ariza before he even seemed to know what was happening. The entire Rockets defense looked genuinely stunned as De’Aaron sliced through on his way to the rim.

De’Aaron Fox might be a bit of a long-term prospect for the Kings. His jump shot is still a work in progress, as Fox made six of seven shots from less than five feet from the rim, but went 1-for-8 from outside of that range.

Still, Fox’s sprinting ability and defensive instincts are impressive from such a young player. If he can continue to develop his jump shot and bulk up just a little bit, his incredible speed could lead him to some All-Star appearances at some point down the line.
