1. Shoot 35 percent from 3-point range

Sabonis shot 32 percent from long range last season, but don’t let that number deceive you. His season shooting from deep can be broken up into two parts.

In his first 30 games, Sabonis shot 72 threes and made 44.4 percent of them. In his last 51 games, he shot 87 threes and made a pathetic 21.8 percent of them.

The hope is that he is consistently somewhere in the middle of those two next year. As mentioned earlier, he shot 32.1 percent last season, but if he can be as effective as he was for the first half of his rookie season for a little bit longer, he could reasonably get that percentage up to 35 percent. That would make him a very dangerous inside-outside player on offense for the Indiana Pacers.

Hopefully, Sabonis can make all of these improvements. He is young enough that any improvements are possible. In the ideal world, these are the improvements we see. But we will have to watch and observe what kind of improvements he actually makes.
