2. Keep the preseason chemistry with Lance Stephenson rolling

It’s early in the season. So early that not a single game has been played yet. But the Pacers looked like they will have a special combination on the second unit throughout the preseason with Lance Stephenson and Sabonis.

Lance has had a solid impact on Sabonis so far. They have run a variety of pick-and-roll or pick-and-pop plays together, and you would think that they have played together for years. Here, their screen action causes the defense to shift, which gives Cory Joseph a driving lane. This again causes a shift, and Sabonis to pop in to open space, which leads to a bucket:

Here, it is much more of a direct result and less complicated. The defense miscommunicates on the switch after the screen and leaves Sabonis with a wide open jumper:

Bang. Hopefully, that chemistry continues during the regular season.
