4. Improve from the free throw line

I harped on his inability to avoid fouling, but Sabonis needs to get to the line more as well. He only has a career 13.9 percent attempt rate and shot just an okay 65.7 percent from the free throw line. Both of those numbers need to improve.

Take Myles Turner, for example. He improved his free throw rate by 12 percent from his rookie year to his sophomore campaign, while his shooting percentage from the charity stripe went up by eight percent. That growth would be perfect for Sabonis.

With similar increases, his free throw rate would be 25 percent and his shooting percentage would be 73 percent. That would make him much more viable around the rim and make him a very dangerous post player.
