3. Shoot 60 percent from the field

For each of the last three seasons, Jonas Valanciunas has ranked in the top 10 in field goal percentage.

The bulk of his scoring comes at the rim, as Valanciunas has mastered establishing position in the low post and his wide array of fakes enables him to create easy looks at the rim.

As a result, Valanciunas registered 138 layups and 73 dunks, the primary reason he finished the year converting 55.7 percent of his attempts — the ninth-best percentage among all players in the league.

The figure essentially matches his career average, as he has converted 55.6 percent of his total shot attempts, but has never converted 60 percent of his attempts for a year. Valanciunas is an extremely efficient scorer, so a dramatic overhaul of his game isn’t necessary.
