After a slow offseason, the San Antonio Spurs are looking to prove they can still have a successful season. Here are five bold predictions for the Spurs in 2017-18.

The San Antonio Spurs are set to tip off the new NBA season on Oct. 18. This is the first time they will face the newly built Minnesota Timberwovles.

This season is the first time in years that the Spurs are looked at to “fall off” according to some. After a rather slow offseason, they’re lacking the talent they once had, but that doesn’t mean they can’t produce.

Gregg Popovich has shown time and time again that it doesn’t matter who is on the team. He will always get the most out of his players. Although they lost two key players in Dewayne Dedmon and Jonathon Simmons, the Spurs were able to land Rudy Gay. Gay is looking to prove that he can still play at a high level, and he has a great chance to do so under Popovich.

The Spurs still have Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, and long time veterans Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. This is the core that was the reason for winning over 60 games last year and making an appearance in the Western Conference Finals.

The Spurs are still going to produce. They have proved it time and time again that they will. With that being said, here are five bold predictions for San Antonio in the 2017-18 NBA season.
