Strength No. 3: Plenty of depth

While the Kings will certainly endure more lows than highs this season, they have assembled a roster that should be conducive to building the right way, at least on paper.

Thanks to the additions they made through the draft as well as free agency, the Kings have a good balance of talent in almost all areas of their roster and head coach Dave Joerger will have plenty of options to turn to throughout the year.

The only position where the Kings stand thin is at the small forward spot, as they only have Vince Carter and Justin Jackson acting as true swingmen. With that being said, they have plenty of wings who can slot up to the 3 for stretches at a time.

It likely won’t mean much in terms of where they land in the standings at the end of the season, but there’s no reason for the Kings to not be competitive, even in going against the stiffest of tests that stand in the Western Conference.

The next few seasons for the Kings will be defined by whether they can cultivate a star-level talent, but there’s always a chance they can become greater than the sum of their parts if all things break right for them this year.
