Strength No. 1: Playing with pace

By overhauling the majority of their roster as they did over the summer, the Kings have gone all in on a full-fledged youth movement.

With the change in personnel, the Kings are set to put their athleticism and speed to good use by playing with more pace and getting out on the break to capitalize in that way, especially after ranking as one of the slowest teams last year in terms of pace, per NBA.com.

Of course, having a player of De’Aaron Fox‘s capabilities make that a necessary decision to come to, but they possess plenty of mobility up and down the roster and their bigs can keep pace (literally) as well by having the likes of Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissiere in the fold.

In talking about the change in style they’re about to embark on this year, Garrett Temple had this to say a couple of weeks ago to James Ham of NBCS Bay Area:

"“We’re going to be a team that works hard, that gets after you,” veteran Garrett Temple said on Tuesday. “And we’re going to be a team that respects the game. We’re going to be a pretty fast team, we’re going to get out and run. And it’s going to be a fun way to play basketball.”"

While it’s very easy to take this as talk that many teams tout throughout the preseason, there’s plenty of reason for the Kings to stick to this style and use it to their advantage throughout the year.
