27. Timofey Mozgov, Brooklyn Nets

Timofey Mozgov owns one of the worst contracts in the NBA, but that doesn’t mean he’s a completely useless player. As rookie Jarrett Allen works to adjust to the next level, Mozzy will be a helpful veteran presence who will take the starting job until Allen is ready.

Last year., Mozgov only managed 7.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 54 appearances for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, provided he can stay healthy, he fills a void in the wake of the longtime-coming trade of Brook Lopez.

The Brooklyn Nets are committing to developing their expanding young nucleus, so it’s only a matter of time before people are calling for Mozgov’s starting job. But a young lineup needs established veterans as well, which is the role Mozzy will serve until Allen proves himself.
