Detroit Pistons: 3 takeaways from 2017-18 NBA preseason
The Detroit Pistons enter the 2017-18 NBA season with playoff aspirations after a successful preseason.
The Detroit Pistons gave their coach and fans reasons to be excited about the upcoming 2017-18 NBA season. Despite going 2-3 in the preseason, they looked like a different team compared to the last Pistons squad we saw in April.
The team committed to playing better defense during the offseason and Andre Drummond spent the summer focusing on improving his free throw percentage. Acquiring Avery Bradley in a trade from Boston and drafting Luke Kennard in the first round of the draft instantly improves the Pistons’ long range shooting.
The Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings will use Little Caesars Arena for their home court. Moving back downtown in their new digs created excitement and buzz about the upcoming season.
To help drum up excitement on and off the court the Detroit Pistons ran the #ICantwait social media campaign. The campaign features prominent Michigan residents like Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo, along with fans and players saying why they are excited about the upcoming season.
If the Pistons can stay healthy and continue to build on the excitement and momentum from their preseason fans might be posting #ICantWait for the first playoff game in Little Caesars Arena come April.
But before we look too far ahead, here are three of the most important takeaways from the Detroit Pistons’ five preseason games.
