5. Team chemistry

First and foremost, the Celtics are going to have to figure out their team chemistry. Nearly every time that a team undergoes a roster overhaul, chemistry is slow to come for the new players.

Brad Stevens is one of the best head coaches in the NBA at developing chemistry, which will help the process, but the Celtics only return four players from last year’s roster.

Having a new starting point guard and an All-Star caliber scorer that are new to the team won’t be easy to figure out early on in the season. Irving and Hayward are both excellent team players, but it will take some time for them to figure each other out and find a good balance.

Boston may get off to a slow start, but chemistry shouldn’t be a major issue for them come playoff time.
