NBA: Ranking all 30 starting power forwards for 2017-18
25. Nikola Mirotic, Chicago Bulls
After three seasons filled with both signs of potential and failure to turn those signs into anything lasting, Nikola Mirotic gets another two years to figure it out with a rebuilding Chicago Bulls team that should feature him as a prominent part of the offense.
However, the difference between putting empty numbers on a terrible team and actually having a good season in the first real year of Hoi-ball might be hard to decipher. Chicago has looked shockingly competent in preseason action, but there’s a big difference between meaningless exhibition and the regular season.
In any case, Mirotic will try to build on the 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game he posted last year, especially when it comes to his 41.3 percent shooting and 34.2 percent shooting from deep. If he can be a little more consistent this year, maybe he’ll climb a few rungs up this ladder despite his team’s standing.
