Head coach Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat are looking to make the postseason after falling short last year. Here are their biggest strengths and weaknesses for 2017-18.

Whether it is the lovely South Beach lifestyle, the uniforms, or the lack of a state income tax, players seem to love to play for the Miami Heat. Last season Miami started off slow. However, behind Goran Dragic, Hassan Whiteside, timely shooting and the heroics of Dion Waiters, they were scorching down the stretch as they won 64 percent of their games after the All-Star break.

The 2016-17 Miami Heat were the first team to ever be 19 games under .500 and finish the season with an even record. The Heat punctuated their 41-41 record with an end of regular season victory over the Washington Wizards. They still missed the playoffs due to end of season wins by the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers.

Here’s a look at Miami’s biggest strengths and weaknesses heading into the new season.
