Chicago Bulls: 5 takeaways from 2017-18 preseason
The Chicago Bulls finished their six-game exhibition set with a 3-3 record. Here are the main takeaways from their 2017 preseason.
The Chicago Bulls finished their preseason slate with a 3-3 record, following a 125-104 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 13. On the surface, a .500 record isn’t too much to get excited about, especially since the competition isn’t as fierce as it will be once the games begin to count.
However, with the team entering rebuild mode, the roster looks vastly different to the one we saw at the end of the 2016-17 campaign. Gone are the Three Alphas and in their place is a roster that includes 12 players with three years or less of NBA experience.
Taking this tidbit into consideration, a .500 record can be considered an accomplishment for a group that is adjusting to a bunch of new faces and an up-tempo offense as well. Don’t tell that to the oddsmakers though.
According to SportsbookReview, the Bulls – along with a few other bottom-feeders in the Eastern Conference (i.e. the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks, just to name a few) – were given the longest odds of winning the championship.
While it cannot be determined how well or poorly this team will perform this year, there were a few things we learned about this group during the six-game exhibition. So without further ado, here are five main takeaways from the Bulls’ 2017-18 preseason.
