2. Make the 2018 All-Star team

During his time with the Blazers, Aldridge was a four-time All-Star. In his first year with the Spurs, he was able to land a spot on the team as well. Since then, he has not been voted on.

The NBA recently announced that they will be doing away with the traditional All-Star selection. The voting process remains the same, however.

To make the All-Star team in the loaded Western Conference, he will need to turn some heads with a great first half of the year.

This year is very important for Aldridge. In addition to the pressure to help the Spurs, this season could affect his future in the league. At the end of the season, he will have a player option. If he decides to leave, he will not be offered a major contract following a lackluster season.

Could an All-Star season be what he needs to assure another major contract? Yes. Becoming an All-Star this season will be crucial to Aldridge and his future. He needs to be sure to work hard and show people that he can still play.
