3. Average 10 rebounds per game

With the Spurs lacking depth in the frontcourt, all eyes will be on Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge. So far in the preseason, Aldridge has shown he can still execute on offense, but he needs to be able to put up numbers in the rebounding column too.

So far in his two years in San Antonio, Aldridge has been able to grab 7.9 rebounds per game, which is about what he averaged in Portland. It is obvious that his main focus is offense, but that doesn’t mean he can’t shift more focus to the boards.

The Spurs added Rudy Gay and Brandon Paul during the offseason. With Bryn Forbes coming back, there is plenty of firepower on offense for the Spurs. During games against smaller teams, Aldridge could focus more on boards instead of scoring. He’s still going to score no matter what, but grabbing crucial rebounds could decide games.

Even though 10 rebounds is roughly two rebounds higher than his average, he is still capable of doing it.
