Indiana Pacers: 5 goals for Cory Joseph in 2017-18

3. Get to the free throw line
Cory Joseph, unlike his general 3-point shooting stroke, is a great free throw shooter. He’s a 77 percent finisher from the charity stripe for his career and has twice shot over 80 percent.
Despite this, his free throw attempt rate took a big hit last season. It fell over 10 percent from 2015-16, all the way down to 18.5 percent last year. This was a career low for CoJo, and he needs to be more aggressive in an attempt to get that figure up.
His career high free throw attempt rate is 36.2. If he had that percentage last season, he would have taken almost twice as many free throws in total. Given how effective he is at knocking down freebies from the line, if he is able to get there more, he can be a more effective player.
