The Chicago Bulls defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-94 in the team’s fifth preseason contest. Here are the main takeaways from this victory.
The Chicago Bulls went on the road to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in their second-to-last contest of the preseason. Although there generally isn’t too much hype that comes with preseason contests, this matchup was interesting for a couple of reasons.
For starters, the Cavaliers’ lineup included LeBron James (who was playing in his first preseason game due to an ankle sprain), along with Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose – both of whom are former Bulls that signed with the Cavaliers this offseason in the hopes of helping the Cavs advance to their fourth consecutive NBA Finals. Furthermore, both teams look vastly different from a year ago.
While many would have thought the rebuilding Bulls wouldn’t present too many challenges for the three-time defending Eastern Conference champions, as it turned out, that wasn’t exactly the case. In fact, the Bulls held their own against James and co. and eventually broke the game open in the fourth quarter en route to a 108-94 victory, improving their preseason record to 3-2.
Here’s a quick look at the main takeaways from this contest.
