5. Make 200 shots from 3-point range

Kyrie Irving evolved as an offensive force last year by successfully incorporating a potent 3-point shot into his offensive repertoire.

The 6’3″ guard connected 177 times from 3-point range, a career-high, while he shot 40.1 percent from beyond the arc, one of 31 qualified players to shot over 40 percent from 3-point range.

The 2016-17 season was just the second time Irving made over 150 shots from 3-point range, but for him to adapt quickly to the offense of new coach Brad Stevens, he will need to be even more productive from the perimeter.

Boston ranked third in the league in both 3-point attempts (2,742) and 3-point field goals made (985). Isaiah Thomas led the team in with 245 made 3-point field goals, just under 25 percent of the team total.

Replacing the productivity of Thomas is among the primary goals for Irving as he joins the Celtics. Setting a new career-high in 3-point field goals made would be a good first step.
