Giannis Antetokounmpo was last season’s breakout star for the Milwaukee Bucks. What goals should he set for the 2017-18 season to reach even higher heights?

The Milwaukee Bucks have a budding superstar on their hands. For a franchise that has struggled to find star power in the years since Ray Allen and Sam Cassell roamed the court, they have found their man. Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most exciting players in the NBA.

When he entered the league, he was a relative unknown with a funny name. His first nickname was “Alphabet Soup” as reporters and fans struggled to spell and pronounce his name. While the spelling is still tricky, the recognition comes instantly. The “Greek Freak” is now a household name.

The 15th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the lanky teenager from Greece entered the league with wide-eyed innocence, excited about discovering frozen yogurt and other American pleasures. On the court, his innocence was soon discarded, as it became clear early on that the Bucks had a draft-day steal.

Antetokounmpo has increased his averages in each of his four seasons in the league. Not simply in scoring, but in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as well. Last season he led the Bucks in all five of those categories, putting up historic averages en route to an All-Star start, election to the All-NBA Second Team, and the Most Improved Player of the Year Award.

How does the league’s Most Improved Player continue his improvement? With the Bucks’ hopes of contending in the Eastern Conference resting on his shoulders, Antetokounmpo has an important season ahead of him. What goals should the All-Star forward have for the 2017-18 NBA season?
