4. Increase shooting efficiency

One of the knocks on Victor Oladipo is that he is thought of as a poor shooter. The good news is that his reputation and what is actually happening on the court don’t quite match.

It is true that Oladipo began his NBA career as a below-average shooter, but he has increased his 3-point and overall shooting percentages each season he’s been in the league.

In 2016-17, Oladipo shot 36.1 percent from deep, which was slightly above the league average of 35.8. His overall shooting percentage of 44.2 percent was only slightly below the NBA average last season (45.7).

Going into 2017-18, Victor Oladipo’s numbers show that he is now an average shooter who has consistently trended upward from year to year — those facts do not paint a picture that indicates Oladipo is a “bad” shooter, as his reputation states.

Despite the steady progress Victor Oladipo has made as an outside shooter over the last four years, it is imperative that he continue that trend and attain the next level as a perimeter threat.

If Victor Oladipo can improve upon his 3-point and 2-point shooting efficiency this season — while also putting up a fairly high volume of attempts as a main offensive option — it will go a long way toward achieving his goal of becoming an NBA star.
