Indiana Pacers: 5 goals for Victor Oladipo in 2017-18
The Indiana Pacers traded for Victor Oladipo during the offseason and big things are expected of the shooting guard in 2017-18.
Victor Oladipo came to the Indiana Pacers this summer as the key piece in the Paul George trade. While Oladipo is not a direct replacement for George, he is the closest thing the team now has to a player with George’s two-way capabilities.
Given Oladipo’s talent and status as one of the more experienced players among the team’s young core, he will be thrust into a primary role in terms of his play on the court, as well as his leadership contributions.
Victor Oladipo was not a highly-regarded recruit coming out of high school, but his raw gifts and strong work ethic allowed him to produce a strong college career at Indiana University.
Pro scouts were so impressed with his potential going into the 2013 NBA Draft that Oladipo was chosen second overall by the Orlando Magic.
Oladipo has had a solid career thus far, averaging 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest during his first four years in the league.
However, he has not yet reached the lofty potential that many observers felt he had coming into the NBA four years ago — but with his move to Indiana this season, that could begin to change.
Here are five goals for Victor Oladipo as he enters the 2017-18 season looking to break out and prove that all he needed was the right opportunity to become a star in the NBA.
