1. LeBron James

As we all know by now, LeBron has a player option for 2018-19 campaign that will likely be opted out of next offseason. When that time comes, watching where he decides to sign next will be one of the biggest storylines in sports. That is, unless he decides to simply re-sign with the Cavaliers.

Unfortunately for Cleveland fans, I don’t see that happening. There’s been too much damage done, and too many other intriguing opportunities out there for him to ponder. More than anything, though, I believe he’s done what he wanted to do for his hometown team — it’s time for a new challenge.

Whether it’s with the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets or someone else, James will be wearing a different uniform in 2018-19. He’s given the Cavaliers so many years of his career, and fulfilled his promise to win the team a championship. With all of the issues stemming from owner Dan Gilbert’s actions, I simply believe LeBron has had enough of this franchise.

Sure, he’ll probably listen to a pitch from Cleveland. Then he’ll listen to what other shotcallers like Magic Johnson have to say, and he’ll realize that there are better options outside of Ohio.

If James is going to win another ring before retirement, it’s going to happen somewhere other than Cleveland. There’s no way this team can put together a strong enough squad to overcome the Golden State Warriors, especially with their current financial restraints.
