Yes, it’s a team goal. But it’s also the main treasure Rose is searching for. The former MVP already has enough money for 10 generations — he’ll make about six times in endorsements that he will in NBA salary this year, according to Forbes.

He has an MVP title, and relatively speaking, a great career. With the Hall of Fame potentially out of reach, Rose now qualifies for that select group of one-time greats that are on the search for titles. It’s why he took a massive pay cut to join a championship contender. Usually, players in their 30s are the ones championship-chasing.

But Rose, the youngest MVP in NBA history, had his career expedited by injury. He reached NBA puberty before the average player. He just turned 29 on Oct. 4, but his career clock is that of a player in his mid-30s.
