4. Shoot 32 percent from the 3-point line

Last season, four point guards averaged 3.9 buckets per game within five feet. One of them was Rose. The other three were All-Stars — Westbrook, John Wall and new teammate Isaiah Thomas. In other words, Rose’s ability to penetrate and score is still there.

But on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rose is going to be asked to hit shots from the outside. The good news is Rose shot 47 percent from the field last year. The bad news is he shot a career-low 21 percent from 3-point range.

The Cavs shot the second-most threes in the NBA last season. With the league firing up threes like they’re about to become illegal, expect Cleveland to shoot even more from outside.

That means Rose could average a career high in 3-point attempts — which means he needs to shoot a percentage comparable to his prime.
