After going through an offseason in which he was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Brooklyn Nets, D’Angelo Russell is looking for revenge and aspires to become the new face of basketball in New York. Here are the five goals for Russell in 2017-18.

D’Angelo Russell is one of the most electrifying young guards in the game.

The 6’5″ combo guard who was selected with the No. 2 overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2015 NBA Draft averaged a career-best 15.6 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game in his sophomore season with the purple and gold, and now finds himself seeking to step in as the official face of a new franchise.

This past offseason, Russell was acquired by the Brooklyn Nets via trade, in exchange for Brook Lopez and a first round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Now, the player who has put up better numbers per 36 minutes than Russell Westbrook in his first two seasons appears to have the full spotlight to shine in New York City’s most populous borough.

So, what is next for the 21-year-old rising star? Here are the five goals for Russell in 2017-18.
