The Washington Wizards came out on top with a final score of 104-100 in their second preseason game against the New York Knicks. Here are 3 takeaways from their performance thus far for the 2017-18 preseason.

The Washington Wizards were in front for a majority of the game, when the Knicks were not scoring at will from beyond the arc. A star from each team was absent in this matchup, and for the Wizards it was Markieff Morris. His defensive presence was sorely missed.

John Wall was in excellent form as he got whatever he wanted whenever he pleased in the paint, showing off his moves to the basket at high speed.

But what most fans were likely to examine from this performance was not from the starting core. but from the yet-to-be-proven additions to the bench. There was certainly some quality to be had from Mike Scott, while others left a lot to be desired from their minutes played.

Despite a couple rough patches, the Wizards held up after being down as many as 10 points during the second half and found their way to a comeback victory. While it is only preseason and we should not get ahead of ourselves, the Knicks served as a worthy opponent to gain some traction as they gear up for the regular season.

Here are three takeaways from Friday night’s performance against the New York Knicks.
