New York Knicks: 3 takeaways from preseason game against Washington Wizards

2. Courtney Lee, Micheal Beasley and Tim Hardaway Jr. carry the load
For most of the night, the veterans looked like they were playing with a purpose and a fire under them. Lee was on the higher end of minutes, playing 23 minutes, while Beasley was productive all-around with 29 minutes.
Lee was on fire from beyond the arc, shooting 4-for-6 on the night while shooting for 50.0 percent from deep. While he did commit two turnovers, he was active under the glass, grabbing four rebounds and one rebound. For just getting a minimal look at how the New York Knicks may utilize their depth of guards and wings, the competition looks rough all over.
Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 17 during the preseason debut, and answered back with another 15 points on 45.5 percent shooting on the night.
Micheal Beasley had an underwhelming preseason debut himself, but he also percolated and stood strong in this one. There was a lid on the rim for his shots, going just 3-for-10 from the field and 1-for-3 from beyond the arc, but he was involved constantly and did a lot of hard work down low.
Beasley led the team on the glass grabbing eight rebounds with four assists, two steals and two blocks. These three players have all held up to expectations thus far.
