1. Become a more independent scoring option
Throughout his career to this point, Jordan has relied on teammates and offensive rebounds for the bulk of his scoring numbers. Paul has been an ideal point guard for him to play with, as he has been able to create open looks for Jordan around the rim.
Now, however, Jordan will be asked to become a more independent scoring option in 2017-18.
There are quite a few ways for Jordan to accomplish this goal. Mostly, he will need to improve his post scoring. L.A. has seen Griffin improve his mid-range and perimeter shooting, which should open up Jordan’s back-to-the-basket game.

If Jordan is able to become a go-to option in the paint, his offensive game will become much more lethal. There are very few big men in the NBA that can match up with Jordan’s athleticism and size, which should give him mismatches in the post in most games.
