2. Build a strong relationship with Gregg Popovich

During his first season with the Spurs, Murray and Popovich seemed to be on the same page. It is obvious that Popovich thinks highly of Murray and believes he can be a special player. He was the player that was chosen to debut the Spurs’ statement jerseys in September.

With that being said, this season, Murray needs to get even closer with Popovich. Pop has been known to turn players from decent prospects to superstar talent, or at least serviceable role players. If Murray is going to start, he needs to learn how to be the best he can possibly be.

Popovich is essentially the best resource for Murray this season. He will be able to learn from the same man that helped turn Parker into a Hall of Fame point guard. With a steady relationship between him and Popovich, it is hard to tell how good this young guard can be.
