5. Average 6 assists per game
The point guard position is often looked at as the most important role on the team. It is their job to set up the offense and distribute the ball to ensure the best chance at scoring. With that being said, Murray was definitely lacking in the assist column last season.
Murray only averaged 1.3 assists per game for the Spurs last season. Although he only played 8.5 minutes a game, that number is way too low.
If he wants to see success at the starting position, he needs to be able to distribute the ball. He is surrounded by talent with this team. He is more than capable of averaging at least six assists per game.
When he is bringing the ball up the floor, he will be able to run the entire offense. He will be looking to hit Leonard for a pull-up jump shot or get Aldridge the ball down low. With those two alone, Murray will always be able to get assists. He just has to be able to make the right pass.
