Boston Celtics: 5 goals for Jaylen Brown in 2017-18
By Evan Massey
4. Shoot 37 percent from 3-point range
If Brown wants to maximize his offensive opportunity, improving his perimeter shooting will be a major key. He shot 34.1 percent from 3-point range last season, which isn’t bad at all — for a rookie. His percentage may not be bad, but being able to improve that percentage to around 37-38 percent would take his offensive numbers to a new level.
Boston is going to get quite a few open 3-point opportunities this season. Both Irving and Hayward are capable of getting to the paint at will. Brown will be able to spot up around the perimeter and take open shots, but in order to stay on the floor in that position, he will need to knock those looks down.
There is no denying Brown’s potential, especially when it comes to his work ethic. He’s been working hard this offseason and his perimeter shooting has likely been one of his focuses. Don’t be surprised if Brown steps up from behind the arc and becomes a 3-point threat.
