Weakness No. 1: Lack of frontcourt depth

The Spurs have always seemed to dominate the froncourt category. This is because they have had players like Tim Duncan and David Robinson leading the charge. But for the 2017-18 season, things are a little different.

Back in 2016, the Spurs signed Pau Gasol. This was crucial for the team since Duncan retired the same summer. Gasol is a two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers. During his 17 seasons, Gasol has proved to be a lethal weapon to any roster he played on.

The Spurs were also able to sign All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge back in 2015.  Aldridge is a five-time All-Star known for his ability to score the ball at will. When you put the combination of Aldridge and Gasol, it makes for a great frontcourt.

But, what happens when these two need a break? Who do the Spurs turn to? That is the golden question. Right now the only backup center that the Spurs have is Lauvergne. This is going to be their biggest downfall for this season.

The Spurs are going to look to make this small-ball lineup work. With that being said, these smaller guys had better get ready to make an impact down low.
