Following the disappointment of a terrible playoff exit, here are five goals for All-Star guard Kyle Lowry in season 2017-18.

The 2017-18 NBA season represents a tremendous opportunity for Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors.

Lowry and the Raptors were left reeling following a 4-0 thumping at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the playoffs. But as has been well documented, the Eastern Conference has undergone significant changes since the end of last season.

As a result, the Raptors enter this upcoming season as one of the few teams whose top end of the roster hasn’t experienced a noteworthy facelift.

Now entering his 12th season in the league, Lowry signed a three-year, $100 million deal this summer, further enhancing his status as the Raptors’ franchise player.

At the time of signing his contract extension, Lowry penned his thoughts in The Players’ Tribune to express his admiration for the Raptors franchise in article titled Home:

"“I’m coming back to Toronto because my heart is telling me that it’s home — and because staying home, for me and my family, feels like the right thing to do. My heart is telling me that this is the best city in the world, with the best basketball fans in the world. It’s telling me that the Raptors can be a championship-level team, sooner than later.”"

Last season, Lowry was excellent in averaging 22.4 points, 7.0 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 37.4 minutes per game. As a result, he was selected as an All-Star for the third consecutive year, thus further cementing his place among the elite playmakers in the game.

Now 31, and on the eve of what figures to be a pivotal season in the history of the franchise, here are five goals for Lowry in 2017-18.
