Which five players should be viewed as darkhorse 2017-18 NBA MVP candidates?

The 2017-18 NBA season is upon us and there couldn’t be more excitement surrounding it. There has been a lot of player movement, new super-teams formed, and even more young teams who should take the next step in their rebuilding processes and become competitive again.

As the NBA continues to change, it seems that players are beginning to team up with other stars in order to chase a championship. That will be the case in a big way this season with the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics in particular.

Players such as Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony, and Isaiah Thomas have all changed teams. Paul Millsap left the Atlanta Hawks to attempt to help rebuild the Denver Nuggets into a contender once again. The New Orleans Pelicans are hoping to see Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins lead the way with Jrue Holiday and Rajon Rondo in the backcourt.

Those are just a few examples of the intriguing landscape of the NBA. There are plenty of other teams that will be entertaining to watch and could make some noise.
