3. Generate more rebounds

Ryan Anderson might stand at 6’10”, but his most recent rebounding output last season would fail to indicate it. In his first season with the Rockets, Anderson hauled in 4.6 boards per game, finishing 102nd overall in the league.

To put that into perspective, point guards Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard and Kyle Lowry all finished with higher rebounding totals per game than Anderson — whose average is not the type that contenders such as Houston would come to expect out of their starting power forward.

This could have played a major role in why general manger Daryl Morey sought to shop around the $20 million man this past offseason for Carmelo Anthony, as the Rockets know that they need Anderson’s rebounding to improve sooner rather than later, especially if they aspire to win a championship.

Should this happen, then Anderson would more than likely help his frontcourt mates Clint Capela and Nene out in a major way, making Houston tougher to contend with on the glass this season.
