Weakness No. 2: Shooting efficiency from the field and perimeter

Last season the Charlotte Hornets finished 26th in the league in field goal percentage, and 18th in 3-point percentage. Scoring the basketball in an efficient matter is one of the most obvious reasons this team continues to struggle.

Nicolas Batum who started at shooting guard last season, shot 40.3 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from the field.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist started at small forward last season and while he shot above the league average from the field at 47.7 percent, his long ball is non-existent. As great as Kemba Walker is, even he shot below the league average, finishing the season at 44.4 percent from the field. He did, however shoot above the league average from beyond the arc, finishing at 39.9 percent.

To put it simply, the team as a whole with practically no exception at any position needs to improve on setting up their teammates with better looks and easier baskets.
