3. Sam Dekker

First and foremost, Sam Dekker is a piece that figures to earn a role in the Clippers’ rotation. He was one of the pieces that was brought in during the Chris Paul trade. Dekker has a lot of potential, but he has yet to show major strides towards that potential through his first two NBA seasons.

Last season with the Rockets, Dekker ended up averaging 6.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game with the Rockets. He shot 47.3 percent from the field overall and knocked down 32.1 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Dekker is just 23 years old and could end up being an X-factor for the Clippers’ playoff hopes in 2017-18. In his preseason debut, the swingman posted four points and three boards in eight minutes.

L.A. shouldn’t expect Dekker to turn into a star, but he has the potential to be a high-profile bench piece. He is certainly a player that fans should watch and get familiar with prior to the season.
