New York Knicks: 3 reasons this team can’t be trusted

Trust not the Unicorn
Kristaps Porzingis possesses the skill and size to lead the New York Knicks long into the future. Unless, however, he keeps getting injured and is off the floor. As Stefan Bondy of the NY Daily News noted, Porzingis has often been injured and left practice on Thursday with a sore knee.
If Porzingis can stay healthy throughout the 2017-18 season he could be a long-shot MVP candidate. Yet, that word “if” is a major reason why this Knicks team simply cannot be trusted. The existence of hope doesn’t automatically mean trust is involved. In the case of Porzingis, injuries have been common and he can’t be trusted until he proves his durability.
Bondy also notes that Porzingis played an average of 27.2 minutes for Latvia this summer. While he didn’t play an extensive practice schedule, KP needed rest after experiencing somewhat significant injuries in his first two seasons. The skill-set of Porzingis is always worth trusting, but as of now, his body is not.
Hopefully, Porzingis rests his knee and takes over the league from the beginning of the season to the end. If he can’t make that hope come true, one of the newest Knicks will have to step up. Unfortunately, there is reason to believe he can’t be trusted either.
