Sacramento Kings: 5 goals for Bogdan Bogdanovic in 2017-18
1. Make an NBA All-Rookie team
Bogdan Bogdanovic enters the NBA as part of a stacked rookie class. Draftees such as Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum and Dennis Smith Jr. are all expected to do great things. There’s also deeper picks like Caleb Swanigan, Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Bell that observers are keeping their eyes on.
Then there’s Ben Simmons, last year’s No. 1 overall pick. Simmons sat out last season and is therefore eligible for rookie awards this year.
But on top of that, fellow Serbian and EuroLeaguer Milos Teodosic will also be making his American debut. The 30-year-old has won numerous awards in Europe, and is known as one of the world’s most electric passers.
The competition for Rookie of the Year will be stiff. For that reason, Bogdanovic should instead set his sights on making one of the two All-Rookie teams. He possesses skills that could really wow NBA observers. However, with so many dynamic performers in the running for Rookie of the Year, he will likely be crowded out of consideration for that award.

Making an All-Rookie team is a more reasonable goal. While it isn’t the highest rookie honor, it would still show that he had a successful campaign and made sizable contributions to his team’s success. Earning that honor would set Bogdan Bogdanovic on the right path to being a major part of the Sacramento Kings’ future.
