1. Earn a starting spot

The most important goal for Patrick Beverley will also make or break his ability to meet the rest of his projected goals. Beverley was clearly in line for the starting role immediately after the CP3 trade. However, his role for 2017-18 was complicated when the Clippers inked his former teammate Milos Teodosic.

Milos is, in every way besides 3-point shooting, the complete opposite of Patrick Beverley. He is a passing wizard and pick-and-roll maestro who enters the NBA as one of the league’s best distributors. While Beverley has improved dramatically in terms of both pick-and-roll play and passing vision, he is still below-average for a point guard.

On the other hand, Milos has been a poor defender in EuroLeague and will struggle mightily on that end in the NBA. Beverley could earn the starting nod over Teodosic due to his defensive play. Alternatively, the Clippers may opt to start them together in the backcourt. Either way, Beverley will need to start to reach the rest of his goals for the upcoming season.
