Los Angeles Clippers: 5 goals for Patrick Beverley in 2017-18
Patrick Beverley has big shoes to fill as the point guard the Los Angeles Clippers received in the Chris Paul trade. Here are five goals for him in 2017-18.
The Los Angeles Clippers made major changes to their team in the offseason. Chris Paul departed for the Houston Rockets, but left a parting gift for the Clippers by agreeing to a trade rather than opting out and signing as a free agent. While the Clippers received some valuable pieces in that deal, the most important of those players is Patrick Beverley.
Beverley is one of the league’s most consistent and dogged point guard defenders. He was Chris Paul’s teammate on the All-Defensive First Team last season, marking his second All-Defensive team appearance in five seasons in the NBA.
Beverley is a high-effort player who ultimately fought his way into the NBA. Despite being a second round draft pick in 2009, Beverley did not make it to the league until 2012-13, his first year with the Rockets.
He may have had a long road to the NBA, but there is still room for improvement in his game. With that in mind, here are five goals for Beverley to strive for in the 2017-18 season.
