2. Win MVP

James has been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player four times in his career, although he has not been a recipient of the Maurice Podoloff Trophy in quite some time.

The last time James received the league’s highest individual honor dates back to the 2012-13 regular season, when he led the Miami Heat to back-to-back titles. And while he managed to put together one of his greatest statistical seasons last year, James found himself outside of the top three in MVP voting for the first time since 2008, as the two-time Olympic gold medalist finished in fourth place behind Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

Although James managed to finish within the top five again, finishing outside of the top three must serve as personal motivation to capture the award this time around. James could join Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell and Michael Jordan as the only players in league history to ever win five MVPs or more this season — placing himself one step closer towards capturing the ghost that drives him, as James’ name is expected to be in the conversation.

Should he do so, then James would become the oldest player since Steve Nash to capture the award, and position himself as arguably the best to ever lace them up on the hardwood.
