As the regular season approaches the Boston Celtics can now focus on training camp and working in one of their biggest additions in Gordon Hayward. Here are five goals for Hayward in 2017-18
The Boston Celtics were easily one of the most active teams utilizing trades and free agency during the offseason. The signing of Gordon Hayward signaled that more moves were soon to come. Just as Isaiah Thomas seemed like the sure future, he was shipped out in return for Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This new duo may prove to be about as dynamic as they come.
As for Gordon Hayward, he had a breakout year during the 2016-17 regular season, his seventh in the NBA. Ultimately he came away with his first All-Star selection, as well as career-bests across the board on a slash line of .471/.398/.844 and 21.9 points per game.
Hayward has several crafty moves to the rim with behind-the-back dribbles, the ability to create space on the step-back, and dunk in open space. He may be one of the best forwards in the league in the years to come if he can continue to play at this level, while making the proper adjustments to a new culture.
Of course, Brad Stevens should be able to help him accomplish this with ease, as they are quite familiar with each other from their time together at Butler. Here are five goals for Gordon Hayward in 2017-18.
