The Brooklyn Nets have struggled to find success in recent years. With Jeremy Lin at the end of his contract this year, he will look to improve the team. Here are 5 goals for Lin in 2017-18.

The Brooklyn Nets have become unfamiliar with what is defined as a successful season. Losing 60 games in two consecutive seasons can make it difficult to find silver linings. That is not to say that the Nets have not improved this offseason, but they will likely be at the bottom of the barrel in the Atlantic Division.

Notable additions this offseason include Timofey Mozgov, D’Angelo Russell and a hopeful steal from the draft in Jarrett Allen. It should be clear to Jeremy Lin that with an upgrade at the point guard position, he will be fighting for minutes if he does not hit the ground running.

Despite getting off to a decent start during 2016-17, Lin was plagued with an unfortunate injury only to recover and then re-aggravate his left hamstring. He was limited to just 36 appearances and 33 starts, and that is certainly not what the Brooklyn Nets were hoping for.

Not all is dark in the future for Jeremy Lin. He is right at the pinnacle of his prime and can still be a productive starter for a team that is struggling to find its identity. Here are five goals for Jeremy Lin as he heads into the 2017-18 regular season.
