With the latest Phoenix Suns Media Day in the books, here are the five biggest takeaways heading into the 2017-18 NBA season.

With the arrival of Media Day, a new NBA season officially begins. After each team’s first brush with the media, then training camp, preseason games and finally the regular season can begin. But first, it all starts with a day of catching up from summer headlines, new developments and expectations for the upcoming campaign.

Heading into their 50th season as a franchise, the Phoenix Suns‘ 2017-18 Media Day came with tempered expectations. This is a very young team that is not expected to compete for much more than another top-five pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

However, that’s not to say it was an uneventful day. From the next step for Devin Booker to injury updates to recent social issues involving the NFL, the Golden State Warriors and President Donald Trump, there were plenty of notable tidbits to be found.
